Learn about the amazing work carried out by Procasahogar del Niño, A.C.
In Mexico, it's estimated that are over a million orphaned minors. Sadly, a lot of them live on the streets, where they experience hunger every day, as well as cold weather (or hot, depending on the season). They are also in danger of being victims of organized crime or, worse, being recruited against their will to become part of those gangs.
That is why different nonprofit associations have arisen to try to fix the problem. In Oaxaca, for example, there is one shelter that serves as a foster home and school for homeless Oaxaca children.
It is called Procasahogar del Niño A.C. and it is located in Oaxaca City. It is defined as a “Casa Hogar”, which translates as a house-home. They are dedicated to caring for kids in a state of vulnerability by not only giving them a place to eat and sleep, but also teaching them all kinds of things.

One of the most admirable things about Procasahogar del Niño in Oaxaca is that they really care about the children's wellbeing and ability to be happy, social, smart, and sensitive. That is why, besides their normal mandatory classes, they also organize activities and events such as:
